It has been busy, busy, busy at the Mollie Rose Baking Company! Yesterday was the New Taste Marketplace in San Francisco, and next Sunday we will be in Walnut Creek at the Bedford Gallery Spring Craft Fest. We have been … Continue reading
Another year is coming to an end, and we would like to thank everyone who has encouraged us and supported us in our first 9 months of operation! Thank you for your orders, attending our events, and most of all offering your best wishes. We are looking forward to expanding in the new year, and also offering new treats! With the end of the year, we must say “goodbye” to some of our tasty treats.
Our Apple Cider Cupcake will be retiring at the end of the month. Sad, yes, but you still have until 12/28 (tomorrow) to order these treats for delivery on 12/31. Orders will be available for pick up between 9am and 1pm on 12/31, and we will be delivering orders between 2pm and 5pm on 12/31. Visit our Order Form.
We have also made our very last batch of Rosemary-Meyer Lemon Marmalade! Order now so you don’t miss out on this amazing preserve. We still have three 8oz jars and nine 4oz jars, $7.25 and $3.75 respectively.
Last, but certainly not least, we can introduce the gluten-free Ginger Molasses Cookie. Made with blackstrap molasses and crystallized ginger, these cookies pack a punch while also offering many nutrients in these winter months. Each cookie is $1.50 at our events, or you can order by the half-dozen for $8. These will be available now through February.
As promised, above is a photo of our October Cupcake Special: Pumpkin Spice Mini Cupcakes! Made with fresh roasted pumpkin and rolled in cinnamon and sugar, these vegan delights can be made gluten-free! $15/dozen ($18/dozen gluten-free) and only available until October 31st (Halloween!). We premiered them at our pop up this past Sunday, and you’ll be able to find them on October 20th at E. 17th and 3rd, and then again (for the final October pop up) at Lakeshore and Wayne on October 26th. Check out our events page for more info!
We will also begin selling our Pumpkin Seed Brittle this month, and we will continue to sell it through December. We have several recipes in the experimental phase, including an exciting gluten-free bread recipe! We’ll keep you posted. 😉
After taking a weekend off at the beginning of August, we were busy busy last week! The gluten-free lemon-coconut cakes above were a special order for a bride who would have otherwise had no cake on her special day. We were more than happy to help her out and provide these treats! Remember, you can order on cottagemeal.com/mollierosesbakingco, but if you have a special order you’d like to place, send us an e-mail at email@example.com and we can work it out!
Last night, we participated in Sto*Nerd Press’ Mini Art Fest at the Firehouse Arts Hangar in Berkeley. It was a great night of readings by the authors and live music from a local band. We premiered our (very popular) focaccia and sold out of our peach-apricot pies! Some lucky raffle winner took home some of our peach lavender jam and dark chocolate almond bark with nibs.
This coming Saturday, we’ll be back at the Firehouse Arts Hangar with the Bay Area Homemade Market! This month, the Market will be fundraising for the Sustainable Economies Law Center-the folks responsible for the California Homemade Food Act. Come by for delicious treats and a raffle! There will also be live music!
This past weekend, we participated in the Bay Area Homemade Market in Berkeley, CA. The above gluten-free currant scones were delivered fresh and snug in their box to a wonderful vendor, Brown Dog Mustard, at the market. We also had our (award-winning) Dark and Stormy cupcakes for sale, which sold out! Our mini peach-apricot pies and molasses beer bread were also gone by the end of the night! It was a wonderful market with wonderful people.
This week, we are having two events: Thursday we’ll be at Good Bellies Cafe for a zine release party, and Sunday we’ll be near Lake Merritt at our neighborhood pop up. These are the last events for July, which means these are the last days to get our Dark and Stormy cupcakes (unless you order them for pick up/delivery by July 31). Once August hits, goodbye Dark and Stormy, hello August Cupcake Special!
You can order our goods anytime through cottagemeal.com/mollierosesbakingco or by e-mailing your order to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please give us at least four days to fill your order.
Tomorrow, we’re having our second pop-up bakery at 1218 E. 21st Street in Oakland from 11am until 2pm. There will be no bread loaves, unfortunately, because our bread maker is ill, but there will be tasty sunflower seed brittle made with organic Earth Balance margarine, organic roasted sunflower seeds, organic sugar, and organic raw agave nectar! We’re bringing this candy back after a few weeks of no brittle. It’s caramelly sweet, crunchy, and spiced with cinnamon and cardamom!
We’ll also have a trio of cupcakes! These dark chocolate cupcakes with fudgy frosting will be one of the cupcakes offered tomorrow. Not too sweet, with tons of chocolatey goodness. These are a chocolate lover’s dream.
We’ll have our June Cupcake Special: Carrot Cake with “cream cheese” frosting! Once again, we’ll have the gluten-free version tomorrow. Freshly grated carrot and yummy ginger, topped with chopped pecans!
A pop-up favorite, these Lavender Shortbread cookies are buttery, crispy, and just a bit floral. The lavender is brightened with lemon zest, and the cookies are not too sweet. Take some home to eat with tea or ice cream!
Finally, there will be Peach Lavender Jam! A new batch made fresh last week will be for sale tomorrow. It’s like summer in a jar! Dried lavender buds, sweet peaches, and lemon zest make this jam perfect on scones, pancakes, or muffins. Get your jar before peaches go out of season!
Ben has also been perfecting his sourdough baguette recipe. As you can see, they are turning out beautifully! The baguettes are crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You can order them seeded or plain! Just give us one week to fill bread orders, please.
These beautiful cupcakes were made for a customer who was having guest over for dinner who cannot eat gluten. The customer herself has diabetes and cannot eat refined sugars. No problem! We made gluten-free dark chocolate cupcakes with organic raw agave nectar. No guests complained about the taste or texture.
Tomorrow evening is the Bay Area Homemade Food Market in Berkeley at the Firehouse Arts Hangar. We wanted to make something special for the occasion, so we will be offering our sunflower seed brittle! And of course it’s vegan, as are all our products.
Will we see you tomorrow at 3192 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA? The Market runs from 5pm-9pm. Check it out!
