Our first Bay Area Homemade Market happened last Saturday night, and it was an amazing success! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed delicious homemade foods and beautiful soaps (there was one non-food vendor). For us, the night was a huge success! We sold out of nearly everything, save three jars of strawberry vanilla bean jam, two gluten-free quinoa muffins, and one small bag of sunflower seed brittle. We’re looking forward to the next Market on June 29th, same time same place.
This week has been filled with work work work, and not just for the bakery. We’ve had to fit time in between our full-time jobs to prepare for our up coming pop-up this Sunday, June 2nd! We’ll be at 1218 East 21st Street in Oakland from 11am until 2pm. Look for the large purple/mauve Victorian in the middle of the block bewteen 12th and 13th Avenues. We’ll be premiering our June Cupcake Special and our Seasonal Summer Pie (see below)! Bring a friend to share with and a bag to take home your goodies.
In addition to the mini pies and dark chocolate almond bark, we have also been making olive rosemary bread, snickerdoodles, and cornmeal scones. Though you won’t see those last three things at the pop-up, you can always order them via e-mail. Just send a request to email@example.com! Please give us at least one week for bread orders and three days for other baked goods.
We just purchased a bunch of organic peaches and are planning some amazing peach lavender jam! Look for it in the coming days.
Our friends were married last weekend, so we made some cupcakes for the ceremony. Above, you will see our gluten-free Maple-Rosewater Cupcakes and our May Special (Tequila and Lime) Cupcakes.
Ben has also been perfecting his sourdough baguette recipe. As you can see, they are turning out beautifully! The baguettes are crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You can order them seeded or plain! Just give us one week to fill bread orders, please.
These beautiful cupcakes were made for a customer who was having guest over for dinner who cannot eat gluten. The customer herself has diabetes and cannot eat refined sugars. No problem! We made gluten-free dark chocolate cupcakes with organic raw agave nectar. No guests complained about the taste or texture.
Tomorrow evening is the Bay Area Homemade Food Market in Berkeley at the Firehouse Arts Hangar. We wanted to make something special for the occasion, so we will be offering our sunflower seed brittle! And of course it’s vegan, as are all our products.
Will we see you tomorrow at 3192 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA? The Market runs from 5pm-9pm. Check it out!
A lot! We have a new batch of strawberry vanilla bean jam for sale. Made with organic strawberries, organic sugar, organic Meyer lemons, pectin, and vanilla bean! This jam is very popular, but we can only make it in small batches to preserve the integrity of the fruit. We have five 8-oz jars and four 4-oz jars for sale now.
Our bread maker keeps churning out beautiful and delicious loaves! Above is our olive bread made with kalamata olives and fresh rosemary. This is a fragrant and scrumptious loaf which pairs perfectly with pasta. We need one week to fill bread orders (they do take quite a while to make), so please keep that in mind when ordering.
After two weeks of curing, our herbed mustard is ready to eat! We have six 4-oz jars for sale. This mustard is made with thyme and a stout reduction.
These fun cookies were a custom order for a customer’s family visit this weekend. Chewy, fudgy cookies in the shapes of elephants, guitars, cats, and hearts! These cookies were made with organic sugar and organic flour. If you have a custom order you’d like to place, e-mail us and let us know what you’re looking for.
All orders can be placed by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
We can only take orders in Alameda County. Sorry for any inconvenience!
On our Facebook page (Mollie Rose Baking Company) we asked our fans which cupcake they would like to see offered in May. We heard you loud and clear, so for the next 31 days we will be offering Tequila and Lime cupcakes at events and online for delivery! We start with a simple vanilla cupcake, then add some tequila and freshly grated lime zest. The frosting is a buttercream with a tequila-lime reduction and a little more lime zest to really brighten it up!
And, just like the rest of our cupcakes, these are completely vegan! $41 per dozen.
We can also make these lovely cakes gluten-free!*
*There’s an additional charge for gluten-free items.
