Last Events of July!

This past weekend, we participated in the Bay Area Homemade Market in Berkeley, CA. The above gluten-free currant scones were delivered fresh and snug in their box to a wonderful vendor, Brown Dog Mustard, at the market. We also had our (award-winning) Dark and Stormy cupcakes for sale, which sold out! Our mini peach-apricot pies and molasses beer bread were also gone by the end of the night! It was a wonderful market with wonderful people.

This week, we are having two events: Thursday we’ll be at Good Bellies Cafe for a zine release party, and Sunday we’ll be near Lake Merritt at our neighborhood pop up. These are the last events for July, which means these are the last days to get our Dark and Stormy cupcakes (unless you order them for pick up/delivery by July 31). Once August hits, goodbye Dark and Stormy, hello August Cupcake Special!

MRBC News

This weekend, we took a break from pop ups and markets to relax a little before this coming week. However, we did make the above Mexican Hot Chocolate 2-layer cake for a special birthday order! We can do custom order cakes, just e-mail us at msmollierose@gmail.com to discuss what you’d like. We also donated some cupcakes to the East Bay Vegan Bake Sale today, which benefited Bad Rap and Girl Army! They raised a total of $1,110 this afternoon for these wonderful organizations.

This coming week, our very own Ms. Mollie will be competing in the Rock Paper Scissors Collective’s annual Vegan Cupcake Bake-off! $5 gets you a raffle ticket and a sample of each competing cupcake. Also this weekend is the monthly Bay Area Homemade Market in Berkeley! MRBC will be there with breads, jams, chocolates, candies, cupcakes, and maybe a few mini pies. Come by 3192 Adeline between 5p and 9p to get your delicious homemade goods.

A New Month Means…

…a new Cupcake Special! This month, we are pleased to announce that our Dark and Stormy cupcake will be the July Cupcake Special. For $38/dozen, these cupcakes are the perfect party cupcake. The cake is a spiced batter, spiked with rum. The frosting is made with a ginger-rum reduction and fresh lime zest. The whole thing is topped with chopped candied ginger and a slice of lime. And it’s all-vegan, of course! No dairy, no eggs in these cupcakes. They can also be made gluten-free for an additional charge.
